Celebrating Eat What You Want Day

Did you know May 11th is Eat What You Want Day?

This light-hearted day began in the US, created by Thomas and Ruth Roy, as a way to push back on the never-ending wave of diets and body ideals we’re constantly surrounded by – and instead, celebrate the joy and freedom of eating what you truly want.

No rules. No labels. No guilt.

It’s a silly-sounding holiday, but the meaning behind it is powerful: a reminder that your body is not a problem to fix. That food is not the enemy.  And that eating what you enjoy – without stress or shame – can be part of a healthy life.

So today, whether it’s pizza, pastries, ice cream or your favourite childhood comfort food, I hope you take a moment to enjoy it. Really enjoy it.

The more we practise permission, the more peaceful our relationship with food becomes.  But where can we start?
